Chemical Krypton 05 - 2005

Krypton 05 is the latest development of Chemical Kiteboards; it’s the result of an exhaustive research and a continuous test of materials and different shaping and design concepts. Each board is made individually, KR05's are hand-made in every step, one by one with a lot of care in every detail by experimented shapers.

This custom board incorporates many advantages when compared with it’s 2004 predecessor and shows a remarkable technology evolution as a result of the continuous improvement that the kiteboarding world is experiencing nowadays.

The main characteristics of this product are:

Extreme Pop
Soft landings in power moves (i.e.: kiteloops / wakestyle)
Great grip – high upwind capacity
Very high speed under control (especially in the 122 speed pro model)

Shape:

The concept that we manage for the shape design of this board is a high performance board but which could be used by riders of different levels. All of our 4 standard models have different specific purposes to adapt to the preferences and requirements of each rider and also to his riding style.

The square tips of the Kr05 give a perfect pop and control, and its straight edges let the board to develop high speed since the water that is passing by the bottom of the board is suddenly released.

The boards develop different rocker lines to optimize the characteristics of each model. The rocker of the board is progressive meaning that the board has a more accentuated curvature at the tips than at the middle of the board. Because of this and it’s lightly concaved bottom, the board slides at a higher speed over the water.

The flexibility and torsion are also progressive since the board is built in such a way that it is much stiffer in the middle than in the tips. The progressive flex not only helps the tips to absorb the impact of the jump landings but also increase the rocker line where it is needed and when it is needed (choppy water & gusts). The progressive torsion highly increases the grip of the board resulting in better control and up-wind capabilities.

Construction:

The Krypton 05 is made with the best materials available at the world market. It’s core is formed by a high density PVC foam (Divinycell™, Corecell™).
The process of thermo-lamination is done in high pressure conditions with epoxy resins and fiberglass fabrics (Hexcel™) and it is finished with a High Impact coversheet specially produced for Chemical Kiteboards. The central part of the board includes some tension strips making it stiffer and the heel areas are specially reinforced to resist impact forces.

The incredibly thin ABS rails (3mm) protect the board as a bumper does in a car but also give the board a unique grip.

Kr-05 132 x 39

The 132cm x 39cm Krypton 05 is the perfect board for heavy kiters or those who are looking for a fast planning board, which may be because of light wind conditions or maybe because they are in a riding stage where things need to be as easy as possible.

The thin ABS rails and its flat rocker line make it an incredibly fast board, so when the wind is light your own speed will make the kite to see a higher relative wind and will make it to enter the power zone easier and this way you could be riding while your friends are waiting over the shore.

With this board you will be going up-wind like you never did before. It’s riding is very smooth and comfortable due to it’s progressive Flex which will let you have a precise control over the board.

Kr-05 127 x 39

The 127cm x 39cm model is a very versatile board and has a great balance between an excellent planning and maneuverability. It is the ideal board for those who ride in places with light winds but who would not want to lose the performance benefits from short boards.

It is a board with an excellent pop and grip which will make it very easy to go up-wind. At the time you are going to land a power move or a kiteloop you are going to feel you landed over a cloud due to its progressive Flex and to its comfortable 3 density pads.

With this board you are going to feel your riding in light wind conditions like if it where 1 or 2 knots more than you are used to and without going down wind, but at the same time making it possible to practice your wakestyle comfortably!

Kr-05 122 x 38

This 122cm x 38cm board has been developed for experimented riders who are practicing advanced movements or like riding waves since it has a great maneuverability a very precise control under all conditions.

It is an all around board, very nice to surf waves but also to make some board-off tricks, very nice to cut a wave but also to land a powerful movement with a perfect stability and a safety feeling.

All of these characteristics are a result of the design and development of every little detail of the board, starting from the selective torsion localized in the tips and not in the center of the board, or the progressive flex that allows an excellent pop but also helps the rider to recover the control in difficult situations.

Kr-05 122 x 38 speed pro

The 122 speed pro is a board designed for those advanced riders that are looking for a board that feels like a bronco, a board that has an incredibly high pop, one that doesn’t pass the waves over but cut them as it does a sharpen knife.

The characteristics of this board are the result of its flat rocker and this makes it a perfect board for power movements and for those who like to ride hard!
The speed developed is extreme, the pop is amazing and it maintains a perfect control thanks to its progressive flex that make the tips to absorb the extra power when the rider wants, e.g. when a strong gust is blowing or when the kite is in a powerful zone.

It is not a suitable board for new riders since more technical riding abilities are needed to take the best from it.

G-10 Chemical fins

Wide adjustable assymetrical footstraps

Our extra wide footstraps include double density EVA covered with neoprene. There is no need to unscrew them ever due to its external regulation by means of a simple velcro strip and a metal buckle.

Grab handle

Chemical grab handles consist in a very light Aluminum structure covered with EVA rubber making them very comfortable.

3 Density anatomic eva pads

Chemical pads are constructed with 3 different density EVA rubber and has an anatomic design that follow the pattern of your foot. This construction makes them extremely comfortable and smooth, they also help to absorb the most violent landings. The surface channel drawings are designed to bring an excellent grip.
